Full plot (contains spoilers)
Young police officer Thomas Hafner is a passionate mountaineer. When he is called to recover a dead man from a mountain face, Hafner discovers that the man is badly injured but still alive. However, during the rescue attempt, the man falls into the depths. The subsequent murder investigation weighs heavily on Thomas Hafner, because he knew the man. The village then brands him a murderer. Only Detective Hanna Weiß believes he is innocent. When she is attacked shortly afterward and evidence in the Hafner case is stolen from her room, the investigators ask who wants to harm the young police officer. Thomas Hafner’s father once raped the wife of the man who suffered the fatal accident. Hafner’s own investigation leads him to a cable-car engineering company that was involved in a scandal. He also uncovers a mobile-phone photo from the victim’s last mountain tour. When police officer Aschauer appears in the photo, he draws his gun. After a struggle and a gunshot, he is left lying there. The detective now considers the case solved and is pleased to see Hafner acquitted.
