Full plot (contains spoilers)
Robert Perkins is a respected businessman who runs a successful trading company in Hong Kong. No one suspects that he also works as a courier for an extensive drug ring. When Perkins learns that a million dollars’ worth of heroin is to change hands at the harbor, he double-crosses his own boss. Disguised, he ambushes the addict Laurent, to whom the drugs were supposed to be handed over. Perkins stashes the suitcase containing the hot merchandise with his unsuspecting sister, Margaret. Perkins’s secretary and former lover, Susan Collins, knows no more about her boss’s shady dealings than does the young trading agent Claudia Laudon. Claudia, meanwhile, is in trouble because the police have found heroin in one of her shipments. Colonel Strong, a fatherly friend, offers to help her. On his boss’s orders, Perkins welcomes pilot Ted Barnekow and flight mechanic Larry McLean. While the two friends are sightseeing in the city, they run into Claudia Laudon by chance. She tells them about her involuntary involvement in heroin smuggling connected to Perkins’s company. In the middle of their conversation, Claudia narrowly escapes a poison attack. To avoid arousing his boss’s suspicions, Perkins fabricates a blackmail letter about the missing heroin. That evening, the businessman meets with the aviators, Ted and Larry. A physical altercation breaks out at the Mayflower Bar, whose proprietress, Nancy Lee, is having an affair with Perkins. As a result, the deal between Perkins and the aviators falls through. The next day, Perkins learns that someone has broken into a former room of his sister’s. Margaret suspects that the thief or thieves were after the suitcase’s mysterious contents. Meanwhile, Ted and Larry find more packets of heroin inside a Buddha figurine in Claudia Laudon’s hotel room. When the two go to confront the Buddha’s seller, he is killed with a throwing knife. The aviators end up in jail, especially since even more drugs are found in their hotel room. In the meantime, Nancy Lee searches Robert Perkins’s office. She finds evidence of the fabricated blackmail letter and of a planned escape to Saigon, which she immediately reports to an unknown person. Could it be the addict Laurent, who is also a regular at the Mayflower Bar and has interests of his own? Or is Nancy in direct contact with the boss? Claudia Laudon is on her way to a police station with Colonel Strong, whom she has asked for help again. They are attacked on the way, and Claudia is kidnapped. To force Ted Barnekow and Larry McLean to fly him and the embezzled heroin to Saigon, Perkins arranges for them to escape from prison. Ted and Larry find themselves in a hideout where Claudia is also being held. Perkins discovers that Laurent and Nancy Lee have their own plans and are in possession of the suitcase containing the heroin. Nancy is promptly drugged and sent over the cliffs in a car. When Perkins has Claudia cruelly tortured, Ted and Larry agree to take the criminal and the cocaine out of the country. Completely unexpectedly, Colonel Strong appears—and it turns out that he is the real boss. He confronts Perkins, who manages to outwit his boss and shoot him. It turns out that Laurent has disabled the plane. Perkins intends to escape with Claudia on a junk. The aviators manage to free themselves from the cellar. A wild shootout follows, in which Laurent is killed. At the last moment, Ted and Larry permanently eliminate Perkins and rescue Claudia.
