Three hapless men compete to support a pregnant woman after each believes he may be the father.
The story
Richy, Walker, and Schmidgruber are working on a new Winnetou film as an extra, a pyrotechnics operator, and a caterer, respectively. Their clumsiness gets them fired, leaving all three unemployed. They encounter Rosi, whose car has broken down, and she invites them home after they help her. A lively party ends with all four waking in a bedroom, unable to remember exactly what happened. Soon afterward, Rosi discovers she is pregnant, and any one of the three men could be the father. Each believes he is responsible and tries to support her, while the men also seek new jobs to earn money.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
At the beginning of the film, the three male leads are working on the production of a new Winnetou film: Richy is an extra, Walker is in charge of the pyrotechnic effects, and Schmidgruber helps cater for the crew. Because of their clumsiness, all three are fired and find themselves out of work and on the street together. There they meet Rosi, whose car has broken down. In return for their help, Rosi invites the three to her home. A lively, boozy party ensues, ending with all four waking up in the bedroom, none of them able to remember exactly what happened. Shortly afterward, Rosi discovers that she is pregnant, and that only one of the three men can be the father. Since each man believes he is the one who got her pregnant, they all do their best to support the expectant mother. This also involves finding new jobs to earn money. They prove so clumsy at this that one disaster follows another. Then, when Rosi becomes a mother, the film delivers its final surprise: she gives birth to triplets, and one of the children is Black. It becomes clear that all three “misfits” became fathers.
