The story
Irene, a mother of four, is finishing her studies at 40 in hopes of building a better life. Her husband, Klaus, is a dreamer who has never found his way. When their eldest son, Fernando, receives an invitation to play handball in Germany, Irene must face the prospect of his departure and the feeling of an “empty nest.” The news also brings an inner conflict: she reflects on the opportunities she did not have when she was young. Meanwhile, Irene’s sister Sônia is trying to leave her violent husband so her son can have a childhood free of trauma.

Irene is a mother of four who is finishing her studies at 40, hoping for a better life, while her husband Klaus is a dreamer who has never found his way.
