Der Spuk im Hause des Professors (1914)

The respected Professor Warming is as desperate as he is at a loss: His house is haunted! He therefore asks Stuart Webbs for help, so that he can get to the bottom of the strange ghostly apparitions. Webbs discovers that a gang of criminals is behind the noises coming from the wall of the house. When he tries to track them down, he is initially overpowered and tied up. Of course, Stuart Webbs soon manages to free himself and now tries to put an end to the gang. The gang is after secret military plans and keeps trying to break into the professor’s study. The plans are indeed stolen, recovered by Webbs, and stolen again. To finally bring the crooks to justice, Webbs installs cameras with electronic triggers and flash units in the professor’s study, intending to catch the tireless thieves in the act.
