Die letzte Fahrt (2013)

Just as her mother dies, Claudia, the wife of a businessman, has good reason to suspect that her husband, Michael, is having an affair. So she drives alone with her son to visit her father, Rainer, on the Rhine, where he runs the old cargo ship Fortuna. Rainer has the ashes of his late wife with him and wants to scatter them in the Rhine with his daughter, as his wife wished. Rainer, Claudia, and her son Jonas set off down the Rhine, from Mainz toward Cologne. When a technical fault occurs, Jan, someone Claudia knew when she was young, comes aboard with his daughter Lucy. That evening, Claudia and Jan grow closer, and Jonas and Lucy also become friends. The next morning, Michael comes aboard too. He tries to convince Claudia that he has not been with another woman, while also being jealous of Jan. After Rainer accidentally drops the urn containing his wife’s ashes into the Rhine and desperately searches for it, Jonas, fed up with his parents’ arguing, takes the dinghy with Lucy to a Rhine island. While searching for Jonas, Claudia and Michael grow close again. They find the children on the island, where they have meanwhile found the urn. In the end, everyone scatters Claudia’s mother’s ashes in the Rhine together.
