Two underfunded entrepreneurs launch a flirtation camp in Morocco, only for a tiny group of troubled customers to upend their plans.
The story
Entrepreneurs Katja and Mike believe a flirtation camp can turn them into successful experts at helping strangers find partners for life. Short on capital, they finance an advertising spot with other people’s money and rent a hotel with still more borrowed funds, expecting paying customers to travel to Morocco. Their ambitious launch instead attracts only six participants. Among them are Nina and Hajo, a divorced couple whose children arranged the trip hoping they would reconcile. But the former spouses bicker constantly, and Nina has vowed to avoid relationships with men. The other guests also have difficulties with their stay, while the entrepreneurs’ unusual flirting methods face a shaky start.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
The two entrepreneurs, Katja and Mike, think the idea of a flirtation camp is brilliant. They want to go into business as flirting experts, finding strangers the partners of their lives. They are less well-capitalized than naive, however, which is why they want to put the idea into practice. With plenty of other people’s money, they make an advertising spot, and with even more borrowed money, they rent a good hotel. Surely the paying customers will eventually make their way to Morocco. Unfortunately, the mass influx consists of just six people, two of whom even know each other: Nina and Hajo, a divorced former couple. Their two children arranged the trip so that they would reconcile. Instead, the two constantly snap at each other; after the divorce, she had sworn to the lawyer never to get involved with men again. The other participants also have their share of problems with the stay. The flirting experts’ strange methods seem to work only once the group is left to fend for itself in the desert.
