Ganz der Papa (2012)

Former professional soccer player Alex Brehm is a widower. Since his wife’s death, he has had to care for and look after his daughter Charlie as a single father. The girl is deeply affected by the loss of her mother and finds relief from her grief only when she plays her favorite sport, soccer. Alex, too, finds his wife’s death difficult to come to terms with. Some time later, when Charlie undergoes medical tests because of health problems, including a blood test, it turns out that she can be neither Alex’s biological child nor his late wife’s. He can only explain this by assuming that his daughter was switched at birth. Alex investigates which other girl was born at the same hospital on the same day and finds Paula. She is the daughter of Sophie Schönemann, a divorced piano teacher. Under a flimsy pretext, Alex gets in touch with the mother and daughter and is so clumsy that he floods their entire apartment. Since he is responsible for the mishap, he offers to let them stay with him while their apartment is being renovated. Although Charlie is initially completely against it, she overcomes her jealousy of Paula and becomes friends with her. Strong feelings also begin to develop between Sophie and Alex. All he has left to do is confess why he sought her company.
