Harjunpää ja pahan pappi (2010)

Police officer Timo Harjunpää loses his daughter Emmi because he is on duty and cannot pick her up in time after a concert. Emmi is brutally raped and murdered. Two years later, Timo is still suffering from his loss. He tries to take better care of his other daughter, Paulina, but his relationship with his wife, Elisa, is so strained that he eventually moves out. As Timo struggles with his personal tragedy, an unknown assailant murders two people at a subway station by pushing them in front of approaching trains. Timo follows the trail of a suspect wearing a hooded sweatshirt. However, he cannot focus solely on this case, because his daughter’s murderer is released from prison. The investigation reveals that the subway murderer is acting from religious motives and sees himself as a savior who punishes violent people. Finally, after a Bible study, he kidnaps Timo’s wife. At his house, he shows Elisa photos of his brutal father and of the Harjunpää family. He tells her that he once fled from his father and nearly got run over by a train in the process. In the basement, he rapes Elisa. Then he shoots a police officer and threatens to burn Elisa alive. Timo arrives just in time with his colleague to stop the murderer.
