Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alberto Colombo is an engineer and is married to Margherita, a career woman. To avoid being fired after years of service at his company, Colombo agrees to move to the remote town of Melancias in South America to build an oil pipeline. When he arrives, Alberto discovers that the town is inhabited only by women, all with a considerable sexual appetite. He finds it impossible to resist temptation and soon gets several of them pregnant. After more than nine months have passed and he has become a father, Alberto manages, after various mishaps, to complete the work he was assigned, thereby regaining his company's esteem and obtaining a visa to return home. A short time later, however, Colombo receives orders to return to South America, with his salary tripled; this time, though, he leaves with his wife. But in the meantime, things in Melancias have changed: this time, only men are there to greet the couple.
