Ich war noch niemals in New York (2019)

Lisa Wartberg is a successful TV presenter who always puts her job first. She has just as little time for her neglected love life as she does for her lonely mother, Maria. After ratings for Lisa’s show fall, she is in danger of losing her job and should really be focusing on her career. But then her mother loses her memory after falling in her apartment, is taken to hospital, and can remember only that she has never been to New York. She escapes from the hospital and sneaks aboard a luxury cruise ship as a stowaway. Lisa sets off with Fred, her makeup artist, to look for her mother and finds her aboard the MS Maximiliane. But before the three of them can leave the ship, the ocean liner sets sail, and they are forced to embark on a transatlantic voyage. They are subsequently discovered as stowaways and sentenced to cleaning duty. On board, Lisa meets Axel Staudach and his son Florian, and Axel and Lisa grow closer. Meanwhile, Maria meets Otto, a dance host who claims to share a past with her—something Maria cannot verify because of her accident and lost memories. Fred, meanwhile, falls in love with Costa, the ship’s Greek magician.
