François Veber, a young electrician from Tours, has only one passion: the theater. His partner, Jocelyne, is a physical education teacher and basketball fanatic. Since they don't have much in common, François has no qualms about leaving her and starting a new life when Marguerite Balicourt's theater company offers him a job as a stage manager.
