Les démons (2015)

Félix is a 10-year-old boy who lives in relative harmony with his mother, older brother, and older sister in a quiet suburb of Montreal. His father, however, is often absent, and suspicions of adultery as well as marital arguments unsettle the young boy. Timid and gentle by nature, he cannot understand how the adult world works, and many things terrify him, with or without reason. His imagination leads him to construct destabilizing chains of cause and effect, but most of the time he remains an observer of his own fears and keeps much inside. Awkwardly, he tries to attract the attention of his young, beautiful gym teacher, whom he secretly loves. He also experiments with sexual games with a classmate, which make him question his orientation. A rumor circulating among the middle-school students speaks of a pervert who kidnaps and rapes young boys in the area. The rumor ultimately proves true, as a child has disappeared, and Félix comes close to suffering a trauma that he narrowly escapes.
