Neşeli Hayat (2009)

It tells the story of a Santa Claus who doesn’t know what Santa Claus is. It is a drama about a small family striving to have a joyful life. Rıza Şenyurt is the most troublesome Santa Claus in the world during the Christmas season... For one thing, he doesn’t know exactly what Santa Claus is! Santa Claus Rıza Şenyurt, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, finally learns the job: life, as we call it, is no more real than the lies children believe! The film’s title was inspired by this quatrain by Omar Khayyam: “If you have half a loaf of bread and a tiny house, and are nobody’s servant or slave, the happiest life is yours.”
