A young man caring for his grandmothers in the Uckermark must decide whether to pursue a new life in Berlin after falling in love.
The story
Markus lives with his grandmothers, Sabine and Alma, in the Uckermark countryside of Brandenburg. Alma has dementia and relies on his care, while Sabine also sometimes needs emotional support. Markus is glad to help them, but he longs for a life in Berlin’s queer community. After packing his belongings to move, he begins to reconsider his plans when he meets and falls in love with Duc. The new relationship leaves Markus facing a difficult decision about where—and how—he wants to build his future.

Markus lives with his two grandmothers, Sabine and Alma, in the Brandenburg countryside, more precisely in the Uckermark. His grandmother Alma has dementia and depends on his help, while Sabine sometimes needs a shoulder to lean on, too. He is happy to help them both, but at the same time longs for a life in Berlin’s queer community. He had already packed his moving boxes when his resolve began to waver again after he met and fell in love with Duc. Markus is once more faced with the question of how—and above all where—he wants to spend the rest of his life.
