Olsenbanden - Operasjon Egon (1969)

Egon Olsen is the leader of a trio of petty criminals. He is always making elaborate plans for the gang’s next heist. This time, the target is a gold figurine that once belonged to a German emperor. The figurine is worth 12 million Norwegian kroner and is on display at a museum in Oslo. Egon’s plan in this film is to steal it. The gang discovers that Detective Hermansen is to guard the museum, which complicates their break-in plans. Egon decides that he, Benny, and Kjell will sneak in underneath the museum through a well, blasting their way through it. Basse is to help them. First, Egon’s girlfriend will lure Hermansen out of the museum. Basse gives a boy a piece of chewing gum if he touches the glass case containing the figurine. Touching it triggers the security mechanism, which lowers the figurine into the ground, where the Olsen Gang is waiting. The plan succeeds, and the gang hides the figurine in the pram belonging to Kjell’s son. They leave the pram unattended in the street while they are at a pub. Kjell’s wife, Valborg, happens to pass by shortly afterward. She spots the pram and sees that Kjell is inside with another woman. Upset by her husband’s infidelity, she goes straight to her mother’s home in the countryside. The Olsen Gang sets off to persuade her to come back to Kjell. Meanwhile, Benny has lost a love letter from his girlfriend Ulla in the well. Hermansen found the letter while investigating the heist, and this puts him on the Olsen Gang’s trail. It turns into a car chase, with the Olsen Gang in one car and the police in another.
