Top Model (1988)

Writer Sarah Asproon is finishing her new book about high-class prostitution, with the help of her friend and agent, Dorothy. To gather authentic material, they have set up an escort agency, which is proving very successful. While Dorothy runs the agency, Sarah uses the alias Gloria and soon becomes the most sought-after girl, until a client, Peter, accidentally discovers her true identity and starts blackmailing her, threatening to cause a scandal and report her to the police, forcing her to give in to his demands. To keep the clients’ appointments in order, they bring in Cliff Evans, a young computer programmer: he is attractive, shy, and naive, and Sarah is taken with him and teases him from the start. But he hesitates, since he has never been with a woman and considers himself inadequate. What is more, he is in a delicate situation with his gay friend Jason, who wants Cliff to return his feelings. Since Cliff does not yet seem entirely sure, Jason has chosen to be away for a while, leaving Cliff as a guest in his home while he waits for his friend to make up his mind. In fact, Cliff falls seriously in love with Sarah and wants to be completely normal with her. But in the end, his love for Sarah will dispel Cliff’s doubts, and he will have a happy and fulfilling experience with her. With all the obstacles finally overcome, Sarah and Cliff will be able to live happily together after thwarting Peter’s threats and turning down Jason’s advances, moving to another city.
