A grieving teacher follows her missing husband's trail to his childhood home, where strange encounters lead her toward a buried secret.
The story
For three years, young teacher Marelle has mourned her husband Daniel, who mysteriously disappeared, and feels unable to imagine a future or even live in the present. She learns that he may have secretly made a pilgrimage to the place where he grew up, so she sets out for the Gers, near the Pyrenees. On the journey, she meets a mysterious antiquarian in a bookshop and an elderly farmer. These strange encounters open up a secret world and draw Marelle toward the mystery surrounding Daniel's past.

For three years, the young teacher Marelle has been grieving for her husband Daniel, who mysteriously disappeared. She can no longer see a future or even the present. Then she discovers that he is said to have secretly made a pilgrimage to the place where he grew up. So she sets off on a journey to the Gers, near the Pyrenees. Strange events, such as meeting a mysterious antiquarian at a bookshop and an elderly farmer, open up a secret world to her. Like Eurydice, who is to be rescued from the realm of the dead by Orpheus, she descends into a crypt. For twenty years ago, a little girl died there—the girl Daniel once wanted to marry. And there, in a cave, Marelle encounters the dead...
