The story
Péter, a gruff and efficient inspector devoted to his career, works in a specialist missing-persons unit and investigates human trafficking in Brașov. After dismantling a criminal network, he is called back to Valan, his hometown in the Transylvanian mountains. A young girl's body has been discovered there, and the case raises the possibility of a connection to Juli, Péter's sister, who disappeared when they were children. With disappearances occurring each year around Christmas, he faces distrust from local residents and hostility from local authorities as he pursues a case that seems beyond him.

A gruff and efficient inspector, Péter devotes his life to his career. He is investigating human trafficking in Brașov as part of a specialist missing persons unit. Just after dismantling a sordid network, Péter is called back to Valan, his hometown. In the surrounding Transylvanian mountains, a body has been discovered: that of a young girl who was hanged years ago. Is this corpse connected to his sister Juli, who vanished when they were children? Why do disappearances happen every year around Christmas? Facing the distrust of the locals and the hostility of the local authorities, Péter finds himself alone in a case that is beyond him.
