Tobias complains that, once again, responsibility for caring for their parents has fallen to him. The film then follows each sibling in a separate episode over the following weeks, tracing how these family obligations intersect with the different demands in their lives.

The following weeks in each sibling’s life are then shown in separate episodes: It’ll Be All Right Again — The Pilot Stefan has been on sick leave for months because of hearing and balance problems. In the evenings, he puts on his uniform and goes to airport hotel bars to pick up flight attendants for one-night stands. Stefan is divorced from Jenny, and his underage daughter Vicky lives with him for periods of time. Although he does not have custody, he wants to control her, which leads to conflict. At dinner with an old friend, the friend asks about their son. Julia says he has been dead for three years, and the mood changes. Julia turns her attention back to the dog, and the couple trade accusations. At the hotel, Julia collapses because she has not yet come to terms with her child’s death. He barely gets any work done, though, because he regularly has to look after his three children while his wife works and provides for the family. When she has a day off, he goes to his parents’ house because the caregiver who worked there has quit without notice. His father has problems with his heart and legs but refuses to see a doctor and rejects his son’s help. His mother ignores the problems, has the bathroom renovated, and orders Indian food. At a party with people much younger than him, Tobias manages to forget his problems for a little while. The next day, his father finally agrees to go to the hospital. After examinations have been carried out, a complication occurs, and he has to be put on a ventilator in intensive care. When Tobias visits him, his father dies. His mother had not come along because she could not wake up after taking sleeping pills. In the final scene, Julia has a baby, and the whole family comes to the hospital to delight in the new arrival.
