Der Prinz im Bärenfell (2015)

Prince Marius is vain and unwilling to commit. His daily grooming matters more to him than anything else. While out riding, he falls into a trap set by the Devil. To gain his freedom, however, he must make a pact with the Devil: by the equinox, he must find a woman who truly loves him despite his appearance. Marius boasts that this will be easy. But the Devil is determined to have his soul and transforms him into a man covered in bear fur. A golden ring seals the pact. Animals and people flee from him, partly because of his smell, and even his father fails to recognize him. His father even believes that the monster has done something to his son and offers a reward for anyone who hunts it. Marius retreats into the forest. One day, he steals bread from a farm. There he meets Elise, who works on the farm for her aunt Hedwig. She realizes that he is not a vicious or dangerous beast. But during the theft, Marius is shot by Kilian, Aunt Hedwig’s son, and flees into the forest. The following night, Elise searches for him, finds him, and hides him in the barn, where she nurses him back to health. When Elise’s aunt discovers him, the prince in bear fur has to flee again. Elise helps him escape. As they part, Elise realizes that she has fallen in love, so Marius breaks the golden ring and gives her one half. The spell is broken. Marius returns to the farm as a prince to take Elise home as his wife. At first, she does not recognize him and says that she loves someone else. But then he shows her his half of the ring and takes her with him to his castle.
