In jeder Sekunde (2008)

Two stories are told about six people in Munich whose fates become dramatically intertwined. Dr. Frick is head of the psychiatric department at a hospital. He is married to Anna, and they have an eleven-year-old daughter who suffers from an incurable hereditary disease. Coping with this increasingly strains their marriage, and he throws himself more and more into his work. Sara, who DJs in nightclubs, breaks up with Christoph, a drug-addicted event manager, because she finds him too superficial. Shortly afterward, she meets the sensitive Ben, and they fall in love. Ben gets a job as a photographer abroad, and they have to be apart for a while. Meanwhile, Dr. Frick meets Luisa, an art gallery owner. She brings him a gift from her sister, who had once been his patient and had taken her own life shortly before. At first, Dr. Frick resists the feelings beginning to develop, but Luisa does not give up. They, too, fall in love. When Ben returns to Germany, Sara cannot be found. In the meantime, Christoph had lured her to his place on the pretext that he wanted to work with her on a project, and put purported knockout drops in a drink for her, putting her life in danger. At the hospital, she initially lost her child, which Ben still knew nothing about. When he finally tracks her down and is driving to the clinic to see her, a traffic accident occurs in the darkness: Ben and Luisa collide and are killed. Ben had finally reached Sara by phone, and just as she tentatively tries to reconnect with him, she has to hear the accident happen. Dr. Frick will travel to Tuscany with his wife and daughter.
