The story

After terrible events in Mali, senior reporter and former humanitarian aid volunteer Antoine returns to Saint-Gilles, France, to write an article about Romanesque art. There he meets Constance, the adopted daughter of the local inn’s owner, who is trying to uncover the truth about the deaths of her parents, Eva and Louis Lacassan—a truth long hidden from her. Juju says they see the ghost of Eva, the red-haired woman, which may provide a lead in Constance’s investigation. Full plot (contains spoilers)

The story of *The Red-Haired Woman* is set in the Brionnais, a land of churches that invites serenity. In Saint-Gilles, however, the atmosphere grows increasingly unsettling, as the past plays against the present. After experiencing terrible events in Mali, Antoine, a senior reporter and former humanitarian aid volunteer, has returned to France, to Saint-Gilles, to write an article about Romanesque art. He meets Constance, the very attractive adopted daughter of the inn’s owner. She, too, has a secret. She is trying to uncover the truth about the deaths of her parents, Eva and Louis Lacassan—a truth that has been hidden from her for far too long. And then there is Juju, who says they see the ghost of Eva, the red-haired woman. Could this be a lead in Constance’s investigation? A story gradually unfolds between Antoine and Constance, these two wounded people, and may perhaps help them see their adventure through to the end.
