Full plot (contains spoilers)
A young woman, Marie Bourgoin, mysteriously disappears from her parents’ inn. Fabian and Gomez, two detectives from the Versailles Criminal Investigation Department, are assigned to the case. But bloodstains found on a flyer portend the worst. Meanwhile, the bodies of young people, horribly mutilated and all decapitated, are discovered here and there, leaving little doubt that a serial killer is at large. Marie’s parents then receive an anonymous letter accompanied by a photograph of their daughter, mutilated and hanging. Fabian and Gomez are assigned all the investigations into these murders, but their work is hampered by Gomez’s marital troubles and his penchant for alcohol.
