La via della droga (1977)

Mike Hamilton, head of the International Narcotic Bureau in Rome, is convinced that the international drug trade has its distribution hub in the Italian capital. He decides to place one of his agents, Fabio, inside the criminal organization. Fabio arrives at Fiumicino from Hong Kong carrying a quantity of drugs, and lets himself be discovered and arrested. This enables him to make contact with Gillo and Vera, who are more victims than criminals in the drug trade, and through them he gets in touch with the men working for a boss named Le Roy. Le Roy heads an American organization that, concealed behind the front of a pharmaceutical institute, distributes from Rome the goods processed in a clandestine laboratory. Although Mike keeps a constant watch on Fabio from a distance, Fabio has a hard time both because the men he has to deal with are suspicious of him and because the regular police, prudently kept in the dark about the operation, attack him several times. To win Le Roy's trust, the courageous agent is forced to act as a courier. In the end, when he has the keys to the mystery in his hands, he is also discovered by the criminals, whom he will be forced to fight alone.
