Full plot (contains spoilers)
Nina, a woman with a dissolute lifestyle who is a compulsive liar and deeply in debt, is about to lose her childhood home. Left with a mute child abandoned by a Bosnian refugee friend, she can think of only one way to raise money quickly: use money lent to her by a wealthy, idle friend to buy cannabis in the Netherlands and resell it illegally. She also sees this as an opportunity to reconnect with her son, Baptiste, who fled his mother at the age of 20 and now lives in Rotterdam. He has grown tired of his mother’s whims since his father left, but has never managed to free himself from her influence. The journey back to France will give mother and son a chance to understand each other again and reconnect.
