Full plot (contains spoilers)

Count Herbert Löwe has been murdered. Harry Higgs learns of the violent crime by phone from an unknown caller. The Count’s widow commissions the master detective to find the culprit. Numerous clues bring Higgs ever closer to the murderer, and yet it is chance that leads him to the solution: the murderer has taken his own life by ingesting poison! Finally, Harry Higgs pieces everything together. The culprit, a certain Ralph Hiller, who led a second life as Sir Roberts, murdered the Count “by mistake.” Hiller thought he was facing Count Löwe’s brother Fred, whom he claimed had dishonored Hiller’s sister, Lia.
