The story
Mathias, a forty-year-old landscape gardener, is on a cruise with his wife when he notices a child who looks just like he did at ten. Intrigued, he searches for the boy and discovers that they share not only a name, but parents with the same names as his own. The child’s family appears to mirror Mathias’s family from thirty years earlier. Confronted with this uncanny resemblance and believing he knows what the boy will face, Mathias becomes determined to intervene and correct the mistakes made by his younger self and his parents.
