Full plot (contains spoilers)
Alessandro is a widowed pediatrician who lives with his teenage son, Giacomo. Constantly urged by friends and relatives to find another woman and start a new life, Alessandro one day gets a call from his friend Gigi. Besides telling him that he has been living in Brazil for some time, Gigi confesses that he is ill and persuades Alessandro to come visit him. Once in Natal, Alessandro learns that Gigi inherited a large sum of money from his father, which he can collect only through a nephew who is the intended beneficiary of the €3 million inheritance. Since he has no children, Gigi asks his friend Alessandro for help, and together they devise a plan: to stage Gigi’s funeral so that everything can be put in Alessandro’s son’s name. The comedy unfolds amid misunderstandings and double cons as they search for a way to claim the inheritance. Between misunderstandings and frustrations among the friends, tensions in the father-son relationship, and a new love story with the mother of his son’s girlfriend, the film continues until the unexpected ending in which the eagerly awaited inheritance disappears.
