Full plot (contains spoilers)

Jan runs the restaurant on the Sweden ferry, but he is not exactly popular, either with the customers or the staff. Things are no better at home. His wife, Bente, hits him, and every time he turns up at work with a new black eye or something similar, he has to come up with a new excuse. When Jan’s boss on the Sweden ferry has had enough of the way Jan treats the customers, he insists that Jan go to therapy. When Jan sets out to sign up for therapy for abused men, he accidentally ends up in a group for men who beat their wives. There he meets two auto mechanics, Rudy and Alf. Pretending that Bente has been unfaithful to him, he hires Rudy and Alf to kill her, but things do not go according to plan. Rudy and Alf end up becoming friends with Bente, and everything becomes much harder for Jan than it was before.
