Full plot (contains spoilers)

Daniel is an outsider living in Copenhagen. He earns what little money he has by spray-painting love messages on public walls for clients. His opinionated friend Roger, nicknamed Grandpa, works as an assistant in a sleep laboratory and spends his free time training to become a soccer referee. Grandpa has a crush on Franc, who works in a bakery. But because he is shy, he cannot bring himself to talk to her. When he finally works up the nerve, Franc is standing in the shop, high on psychedelic mushrooms. Grandpa loses his nerve and runs off, but Daniel takes her home and returns a few days later to see how she is doing. After meeting Franc again at a café, he realizes he is in love and from then on starts spraying his own love messages on walls. During a new job, he falls into a police trap and is sentenced to probation. After he has to leave his apartment, he volunteers for a long-term trial in Grandpa’s sleep lab, just so he will at least have a bed. One day, it becomes clear that Franc is pregnant by Daniel. Daniel flees to Spain because he does not feel up to the task of being a father. When he returns, he takes Franc to a clinic for an abortion. On the way there, however, in a moment of clarity, he suddenly realizes that it is time to take responsibility and decides against the abortion.
