Disparue en hiver (2014)

Daniel Vernant (Kad Merad), a former police officer who has become a debt collector, has a tow-truck driver take away the car of a man who has not paid his debt. The man arrives, protests, takes it out on the tow-truck driver, then leaves. A little later, sitting behind the wheel of his car, Daniel answers a call on his mobile phone. The man suddenly appears, armed with a crowbar, strikes Daniel’s windshield several times, then leaves without saying a word. At a roadside diner, Daniel rereads and sorts through his documents. He watches a young couple seated at another table. The young man hands a set of keys to the girl (Lola Créton) and leaves. When Daniel leaves the diner, the girl catches up with him and politely but insistently asks him to drop her off nearby. She gives him directions. As they drive, Daniel grows increasingly uneasy, since they are heading along a forest road toward an area that seems uninhabited. He stops the car in a wooded area. She offers to give him oral sex for 50 euros. Outraged, he refuses, makes her get out of the car, and drives away, abandoning her there. Overcome with remorse, he returns a few minutes later, but she has disappeared and his calls go unanswered. By coincidence, one of his clients is an elderly woman who tells him that her granddaughter, Laura, has been missing for two days. When he sees a photo, he realizes she is the girl he met the day before. He becomes interested in finding Laura. Gradually, he uncovers a kind of prostitution ring.
