Météors (2025)

Mika and Daniel are two friends who party, drink, smoke cannabis, and talk about everything and nothing. They dream of setting up a kennel on Réunion Island and leaving their region and the city of Saint-Dizier, where they feel stuck in a rut. Their more serious friend Tony runs a subcontracting company in the construction industry that carries out work for the organization responsible for managing nuclear waste. Mika works part-time at a Burger King; Daniel is unemployed. Everything changes when an attempt to kidnap a prize-winning cat goes wrong. It was Daniel’s harebrained idea after a very heavy night of partying, and it costs Mika his driver’s license and his car, while sending Mika and Daniel into police custody and then before a judge for an immediate court hearing. When Daniel has an epileptic seizure during the hearing, Mika discovers just how alarmingly poor his friend’s health has become. Mika and Daniel’s lawyer explains that they have six months to prove themselves before their trial hearing: they must get clean and find work. Tony agrees to hire them at his company.
