The story

Full plot (contains spoilers)
Anna, a sweet and naive twenty-year-old, falls in love with Marco, a wealthy engineer older than she is, and fatally gives herself to him, body and soul—above all, body. Anna is willing to do anything for Marco, even letting herself be drawn into a dangerous game of subtle sadomasochistic pleasures, attractions, and repulsions, through which she will nevertheless grow and become a woman. When she becomes pregnant, she decides—without telling him—to go to Venice for an abortion, as he wants. But the experience is traumatic, and Anna realizes she has to get out of that situation, transforming herself from a willing pawn into the one in control.
