Es ist zu deinem Besten (2020)

The business lawyer Arthur, construction worker Kalle, and physiotherapist Yus are three fathers whose daughters have fallen in love. From the fathers’ point of view, however, each has fallen for the wrong man: in their eyes, the prospective sons-in-law are no shining examples. Luna, Kalle’s daughter, is smitten with an artistic nude photographer who used to be her father’s classmate. Antonia, Arthur’s daughter, calls off her wedding to a lawyer so she can run away with a left-wing idealist who wants to make the world a better place. And Sophie, Yus’s daughter, secretly skips school to spend time with Andi, who has connections to the drug scene. The three fathers therefore decide to get rid of their daughters’ suitors, including by accusing them of having affairs with other women. At first, this seems to work: the daughters and their boyfriends argue. However, they get back together, and the daughters and their fathers also reconcile. The fathers accept that their daughters are adults and can make their own decisions.
