Full plot (contains spoilers)

The film is divided into seven episodes (Madonna Filippa, Ricciardo Minutolo, Nicostrato, The Knife, Madonna Francesca, The Jealous Husband, The Monk). In the first, Filippa, sentenced to be burned at the stake for adultery, is acquitted by the judge after presenting herself naked. In the second, Ricciardetto pretends that he no longer loves his wife so that she will give herself to him more readily. In the third, Lidia has a love affair with a young farmhand in full view of her husband, after making him believe that it is all a spell. In the fourth, Francesca spends her first night as a widow in bed with three men. In the fifth, Isabella finds herself in a room with two men while her husband is at the door; she manages to extricate herself from the predicament thanks to an ingenious ruse. In the sixth, a woman, shut in her room by her extremely jealous husband, chooses to love another man, then returns to her room and adores her husband. In the seventh and final episode, a friar takes a young woman to his cell and takes advantage of her with the complicity of his superior.
