Full plot (contains spoilers)
In Naples, Giovanna runs the center “La Masseria,” a safe place where children can play and grow up after school without risking being drawn into the Camorra. One day, she takes in Maria, a young mother who asks for accommodation for herself and her two children. Giovanna offers her a studio apartment owned by the center, unaware that Maria is the wife of a mob boss wanted for murder. Maria asks for help because she has decided to distance herself from the criminal underworld, but the parents of the other children who attend the center do not accept her and express their fears. Rita, Maria’s daughter, becomes an unwitting target of this conflict. Her mother and Giovanna try to ensure she has a better future and spare her the stigma of being “the Camorra boss’s daughter,” which she has already begun to feel ashamed of. Giovanna finds herself in a very difficult position and, in the end, will have to make a difficult decision.
