The story
Alexandre, an aging cult writer short on inspiration, lives like a monarch in a remote part of Mexico, surrounded by a court of strange and mysterious characters. He staves off boredom with alcohol, boxing, women, and hot-air ballooning. Producer Filippi and his actress Laure soon enter the celebrated author’s life, hoping to acquire adaptation rights to his first novel.

A cult writer, now aging and short on inspiration, Alexandre lives like a monarch in the far reaches of Mexico. Surrounded by his court of strange and mysterious characters, he staves off boredom with alcohol, boxing, women, and hot-air ballooning. Hoping to acquire the adaptation rights to the artist’s first novel, producer Filippi and his actress Laure soon enter the celebrated author’s life. Alexandre and Laure gradually grow closer and unleash the most extreme passions within the community.
