Yves has decided, once and for all, not to worry about anything. He lives day to day and avoids asking himself questions about the future. Back from Brazil, where he has just spent four years, he earns enough to get by playing guitar and singing on the streets of Paris. He has set himself up at the Gare de l’Est: the concourse is his bedroom, a station locker his wardrobe, and the public toilets his bathroom. There he has struck up a friendship with Yvette, the toilet attendant. But he fully intends to find an apartment where he can put all his odds and ends. And when he catches sight of the seductive Isabelle, he doesn’t hesitate for a second to make a pass at her, convinced his charm will work.
