The story
Pregnant Malin has nowhere to live after her boyfriend, Frank, breaks up with her. As a last resort, she seeks out Martin, the father she has never met. He is an arrogant, self-absorbed actor, but before Malin can tell him who she is, he suffers a stroke. When he wakes, he cannot remember who he is—or that he has never met his daughter. Malin sees a chance to make him the father she has always missed. She teaches Martin how to live, and together they fabricate a happy childhood.

Pregnant Malin (Vera Vitali) has nowhere to live after her boyfriend, Frank (Sverrir Gudnason), breaks up with her. As a last resort, she seeks out her father, Martin (Michael Nyqvist), even though they have never met. He turns out to be an arrogant, self-absorbed actor. But before Malin can tell him who she is, Martin suffers a stroke. When he wakes up, he can’t remember who he is—let alone that he has never met his daughter. Malin sees her chance to turn him into the father she has always missed. She teaches Martin how to live, and together they fabricate a happy childhood. But when Martin’s memory begins to return, a conflict arises between his new, idyllic but made-up life and his old life, which is filled with betrayals of his daughter. Which life will he choose? The real one or the fabricated one?
