The story

Julie has a vivid imagination and often speaks of two unseen figures, Boris and Gildas, while drawing intriguing manga. The family’s uneasy routine is disrupted when Florence is found murdered in the house. Julie claims responsibility but refuses to explain herself. Convinced that her daughter is innocent, Marie turns to Julie’s drawings in search of an explanation.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Marie lives alone with her 11-year-old daughter, Julie, in a large house in a pine forest near the Mediterranean coast. She works at a real estate agency run by her sister-in-law, Florence. Florence regularly criticizes the way Marie raises her daughter, who nevertheless has a vivid imagination: she often talks about a certain Boris and a certain Gildas, whom no one has ever seen, and draws some rather intriguing manga. One day, Florence is found murdered in the house. Julie claims responsibility for the murder and refuses to explain herself. Convinced of her innocence, her mother immerses herself in her daughter’s drawings.
