A couple whose routine seems untroubling is thrown off balance when each secretly falls for one of two sisters they meet by chance.
The story
Routine has settled into Anna and Hans’s shared life, and their friends call them “the Hannas.” Their apparently practical normality is disrupted when they meet sisters Nicola and Kim, both described as having ADHD. Anna, a masseuse, meets Nicola through her work and becomes involved with a woman for the first time. Meanwhile, Hans falls for Kim, his tough fitness trainer, while undertaking a self-discovery trip centered on hardcore fitness and confidence training. Neither partner knows about the other’s new relationship, and the secrets begin to put their ability to communicate—and their established partnership—under pressure.
Full plot (contains spoilers)
Routine has crept into the life Anna and Hans share. Their friends simply call them “the Hannas.” Neither of them seems bothered by it—or perhaps they no longer are. Even some of their friends admire them for their normality, which seems boring but practical. But when, by chance, they meet Nicola and Kim, sisters with ADHD, that normality is soon pushed to its limits. Through her work as a masseuse, Anna happens to meet Nicola and, for the first time, gets involved with a woman. Hans, meanwhile, falls in love with Kim, his tough trainer, during a kind of self-discovery trip involving hardcore fitness and confidence training. Completely unaware of each other’s affairs, the Hannas’ secret relationships continue to develop, but neither of them is able to talk to the other about it. When everything finally comes out into the open, both face a major test of their relationship.
