The story

Around 50, Heidi runs a popular kiosk in East Berlin, yet feels lonely. She has been single since her ex-husband left her for a younger woman. Her situation worsens when her daughter Annabel goes to Australia for a year and her ex-husband marries. Heidi’s attempts to break out of her life fail. She then meets Franz, a single father around her age who is in a similar situation. Getting closer is difficult: Heidi no longer wants an “adventure,” while something “serious” seems more than she can manage at the moment.
