Onkel (2019)

For the first eight minutes of the film, the daily life on the farm is shown without dialogue. Kris (Jette Søndergaard), 27, has lived with her uncle on Stenbjerg ever since she lost her parents as a child. When her Uncle (Peter Hansen Tygesen) suffered a stroke, she became a farmer rather than a veterinarian so she could look after him and the farm. She is extremely protective of her uncle, who is partially disabled. They are close and understand each other deeply, even though they spend most of their quirky daily lives in silence. When Kris saves a calf during a difficult birth, her interest in veterinary medicine is rekindled. She develops a close friendship with the talkative veterinarian Johannes (Ole Caspersen) and slowly discovers that there is a life beyond the farm. There she meets the young Mike (Tue Frisk Petersen), who sees right through her reserved personality. As romance blossoms between them, a life-changing question comes to the fore.
