Full plot (contains spoilers)

Forensic pathologist Dr. Theresa Wolff is considering placing a personal ad so she can practise interacting with living people, something she still finds difficult. A call to a new crime scene interrupts her plans. The body of pimp Ulrich Rochow has been found, directing the investigation by the lead inspector, Lewandowski, toward the red-light district. Theresa Wolff quickly discovers that the man was buried alive. Before she can examine the body more closely, she is contacted by high-class prostitute Boriana Maydell, who demands that she be the first to receive all the findings, before anyone else hears about them. Intimidated by this threatening encounter, Theresa Wolff says nothing to Inspector Lewandowski about it. He is investigating the red-light district, where Boriana Maydell is evidently trying to establish herself as a new businesswoman. The victim’s prostitutes are also under suspicion; he had used dubious methods to keep them in line. One lead takes Lewandowski and Wolff to Heidi Müller, the mother of one of Rochow’s girls, who died in a car accident three weeks earlier. Knowing that Rochow had argued with Carmen Müller, Theresa Wolff makes inquiries. She quickly uncovers irregularities and omissions in the autopsy of Carmen, and shortly after she tells Heidi Müller that she intends to have her daughter exhumed, Carmen’s friend and “colleague” is also struck by a car. Lewandowski continues to suspect that Boriana Maydell is using these attacks to apply pressure and muscle her way into the “market.” Meanwhile, Theresa Wolff discovers that Carmen Müller was a dialysis patient and had collapsed with chronic kidney failure shortly before her death. In order to “dispose of” the dying young woman, event manager Erwin Riedberg, who had booked young women for a photo shoot that evening, ran her over with his car. Müller’s friend had secretly filmed it, so he also tried to run her over. After clear evidence was found on his car, he is arrested. However, the mothers of the girls who had to work for and suffer under Rochow were responsible for Ulrich Rochow’s death. They had joined forces, lured Rochow into a trap, and wanted to make him suffer as their daughters had suffered at his hands. They pelted him with stones and ultimately buried him alive.
