Il comandante e la cicogna (2012)

Leo, a widowed plumber, raises his two teenage children on his own, talking every night with his wife’s ghost. When his daughter Maddalena is unwittingly involved in a pornographic video because of her ex-boyfriend, Leo turns to lawyer Malaffano to have the video removed from the internet and file a complaint against the ex-boyfriend’s parents. At the lawyer’s office, Leo meets Diana, a penniless artist whom he falls for. She is constantly struggling to scrape together the rent for her apartment, which is owned by Amanzio, a bizarre intellectual who has not worked for nine years and spends his days wandering around the city, offering advice and making unwelcome observations about society’s bad habits. Meanwhile, Elia, Leo’s younger son—a boy who is already very mature, asks existential questions, and cares about protecting the environment—becomes friends with Amanzio. To avoid paying lawyer Malaffano’s fee, Leo agrees to act as a front man in the purchase and sale of a luxurious apartment, without considering the legal consequences. Later, when the stork Agostina flies off to Switzerland, Elia and Amanzio rush to retrieve her without telling Leo, who, worried, sets off to search for his son as well.
