The story
Umberto and Nena have been married for decades, but their relationship has long involved a third person. For Nena’s birthday, their children, the children’s partners, and their little granddaughter Alma gather at the family’s seaside home. The day promises revelations that affect everyone, including a young woman from Eastern Europe who is now involved with Nena’s son-in-law. As the family spends a winter’s day together, its entrenched relationship dynamics come into view. Alma’s unusual companion, Paco the peacock, adds another incongruous presence to the already complicated gathering.

Umberto and Nena have been married for decades, but their relationship has in fact always been a triangle. On Nena’s birthday, the family—including their two children, their partners, and their little granddaughter Alma—gathers at the family’s seaside home. It will be a day of revelations affecting everyone, also involving a young woman from Eastern Europe, now involved with Nena’s son-in-law. The distorted relationship dynamics, entrenched over time, will be repeated on this winter’s day of celebration. The most unusual guest is Paco, the peacock Alma takes everywhere with her, an additional incongruous presence amid the family’s already numerous dysfunctions.
